Those lamp posts for surveillance … Interesting. That would never have occurred to me.
I immediately thought of Budapest in 1956 … especially with our female lead’s feet seeming to hang suspended near dust and smoke next to them. The art is always lovely, but this strip achieves luminescence at several points.

The Order can essentially see through every citizen using The Luminaries to enter their minds. So every person reports directly to The Order but they also have surveillance methods on top of that. Very Big Brother, very 1984.

Thank you! ⁽(◍˃̵͈̑ᴗ˂̵͈̑)⁽ I really like how the page came together as well.

That reminds me of the years of unmonitored tape in places like East Germany, despite their efforts to limit the distribution of phone lines because of a shortage of listeners.
Ben Kingsley stars in Pasquali’s Island as a sympathetic, idealistic Ottoman spy on a Greek island rushing towards independence and doing excellent work undone by modernizing measures including budget cuts that are revealed in the final, haunting scene of the film. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0095827/ overdeermines the “nobody reads” his reports thing, but … Art imitates life, and all that.

AWESOME!!! Just binge read the whole thing. The art is amazing and the storyline very compelling. I want more……….
